Watch Leyla Jacobson LIVE at the National Spelling Bee

Cheer on North Junior High School student Leyla Jacobson as she competes at the National Spelling Bee in National Harbor, Maryland May 28-30.

This year, the National Spelling Bee will be live streamed! The schedule of onstage spelling (all times Eastern):

  • The Preliminaries will be streamed on ION Plus and spellingbee.com from 8 a.m. to 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28.
  • The opening ceremony will also be streamed. The grand entrance is from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday during the break in competition.
  • The Quarterfinals will be streamed on ION Plus and spellingbee.com from 8 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29.
  • The Semifinals will be streamed on ION Plus and spellingbee.com from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29.
    • The two-hour Semifinals broadcast will air on ION from 8 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29.
  • The Finals will air live in prime time on ION from 8 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, May 30.

The broadcasts of both the Semifinals and the Finals won't be streamed on spellingbee.com as the earlier segments of competition, so be sure to visit spellingbee.com/watch and enter your zip code for instructions on how to find ION and Bounce in their area.

In addition to ION, the Semifinals and Finals will air on Scripps’ other national entertainment networks Bounce, Laff, Grit, ION Mystery and Defy TV. A rebroadcast of the Finals will air immediately following the conclusion of the National Competition on Thursday, May 30 at 10 p.m. The Scripps Networks can be found free over-the-air as well as on cable, satellite and streaming platforms.
