P-EBT Card for Families Receiving Free or Reduced Meals

This year our families who applied for/qualify to receive free or reduced meals are eligible to receive a P-EBT card (Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer).

Families do not need to complete a P-EBT application this year, but they must be approved for free or reduced-price meals. Any family who thinks they might be eligible for free or reduced-price meals should submit an Application for Educational Benefits immediately so they can receive benefits as soon as possible. Regardless of approval date during the 2020-21 school year, all P-EBT recipients are eligible for benefits retroactive to September.

The following documents are available on the MDE website and may be used as sample public outreach materials. Translations in Spanish, Somali, Hmong, Arabic and Karen will be available on the MDE website soon.

Questions? The P-EBT Hotline is available for families Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m., to answer questions about P-EBT benefits. They may call 651-431-4608 or 1-833-454-0153, or submit questions through the P-EBT Help Form, which is available in multiple languages.
