School Conferences and Start of School

During the week of September 8, students will take part in family conferences, orientations, and virtual learning opportunities.

Students will engage in academic learning and attend virtual seminars that pre-teach health and safety protocols and review use of online learning tools including SeeSaw, Schoology, and Google Suite.

In-person instruction will begin on September 14 for students in PK-2 and group “A” students in grades 3-12.  “B” Group students’ first day of in-person instruction is September 15.

Families can expect to receive communication about the first weeks of school from their school principal.

When are family conferences?

  • Family conferences will take place for PK-5 students from 8:00am-3:15pm on September 8 and 10 and 9:00am-7:00pm on September 9.

  • Family Conferences will take place for 6-12 students on September 8, 9 and 10 from 8:15am-4:00pm.

Why did you make this change?

  • To provide ALL PK-5 families with the time with their homeroom teacher to

    • meet their teachers and visit the classroom

    • understand new health and safety routines and learning expectations

    • distribute devices and explain SeeSaw, our learning platforms

Based on our past schedule, there were not enough time spots for ALL families to get scheduled.

  • To provide ALL 6-12 families with the opportunity to

    • meet with their advisory teacher in person, if they choose

    • familiarize themselves with the school building

To bring all 6-12 students and families into our schools safely, we needed extended conference hours.

Is there childcare available for September 8-11?

  • Yes, childcare is available through the Boys and Girls Club at all elementary school locations with the exception of Lincoln. Their childcare will be located at Talahi.

Are meals available?

  • Yes, meals are available through a grab and go at each school site.
