Students Experience STEM
Fourteen students from the Community Options 2 (CO2) transition program participated in a weeklong STEM training at SCSU at Headley Hall May 13 - 17. The program was sponsored by Chris Perrier from CareerForce Center. Professors Chuck Hentges and Mark Schroll spent the week teaching the students Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) using the software programs of Inventor, Slicer, Corel Draw and Grab Cad. The students built prototypes and used laser and 3D printers to design and make a cell phone holder. All the CO2 students participated in a presentation of their work using PowerPoint, and professor Chuck Hentges presented information on careers in the engineering field. A special thanks to Chris Perrier, professor Hentges and professor Schroll for providing this wonderful learning opportunity to the CO2 students!
