Select members of Tech High School's Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) student organization attended the MN HOSA Fall Leadership Conference on Friday, Nov. 13. It was the kick-off event for the HOSA year and a great way to celebrate National HOSA Week. The event included educational sessions on Emergency Medical Services, Pharmacy, Dental Careers, Sports Medicine, Dementia and Elder Care, Mission Trips, Healthcare Myths versus Realities and a Drug and Alcohol Studies session with the MN Department of Human Services. The students also had the opportunity to network with nearly twenty exhibitors, including college representatives and potential employers in healthcare. The day concluded with the installation of the 2015-16 MN HOSA State Officer team. Tech High School's Future Health Professionals will attend other leadership conferences throughout the year, where they will have the opportunity to learn and network some more, develop their leadership and professional skills and participate in a variety of competitive events.
