Tech HOSA Excels at MN HOSA Metro Mid-Winter Competitive Events Day

Members of Tech High School’s HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) student organization participated in the MN HOSA Metro Mid-Winter Competitive Events Day on Jan. 8. The event gives students an opportunity to practice competitive events in preparation for the State Leadership Conference in March. HOSA offers nearly sixty competitive events from six different categories: Health Science Events, Health Professions Events, Emergency Preparedness Events, Leadership Events, Teamwork Events, and Recognition Events. Finalists (top five) in their corresponding events were:

  • Medical Terminology Event: Haillie Rollins (2nd Place); Grace Heck (3rd Place)
  • CPR & First Aid Event: Haillie Rollins and Justine Hase (5th Place)
  • Public Health Event: Megan Maiers/Taylor Maiers/Aubrey Nistler (3rd Place)
  • Health Lifestyles Event: Brielle Tesmer (3rd Place)
  • Public Service Announcement: Grace Heck/Jeeho Sohn/Brenna Weaver (2nd Place); Brinna Doom/Mardi Marek/Jaclyn Merchlewicz/Amanda Peterson (3rd Place); Brinley Deopere/Tori Gehling/Shelby Vogel (5th Place)
