We are committed to providing a safe, caring climate and culture for each of our students and staff while in our school. Our district and building leadership continually review our safety procedures in partnership with local law enforcement to be sure we are making the best choices for our school community.
This school year, staff and students will continue to discuss and practice possible multiple responses in the unlikely event of an active threat. These responses include hiding and barring entry into the classroom or other safe space, distracting, or evacuating the premises to a safe location. State statute requires a minimum of five active threat drills each school year. Our next drill will occur in February and others will follow March through May.
