Welcome to Preschool!
My name is Kara Gordon and I am a preschool teacher at Quarryview Education Center. This is my fifth year as a preschool teacher, but my eighth year with the district. I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in Sociology. I then served two years with an Americorps program called the Minnesota Reading Corps as a preschool literacy tutor at Kennedy Community School. I fell in love with teaching and preschool and returned to school to get my M.A. in Early Childhood Education. I am currently a part-time student at the University of Minnesota working on a graduate certificate in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health.
A little bit about me: I grew up in Brainerd, MN and am the oldest of six kids. I live in St. Augusta with my husband Larry and our cats Khaleesi and Edgar. In my free time I like to travel, read, and do DIY home projects.
I am so excited for this year and I hope that you are as well! Please contact me if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to chat about how your student is doing in school.
