Hello! I am the school social worker at South Junior High. I work with students to help them follow their dreams. I also provide students and their families with resources in the community. My job requieres sometimes to talk to students about things that have happened to them that are hard to deal with.
Originally, I was born in Santiago, Chile and I moved to the United States with my husband and my older daughter, Daniela. I finished my Associate degree in Graphic Design in Gainesville, Flordia. In 2004, I moved with my husband and younger daughter, Shannon, to Saint Cloud, Minnesota. Both of my daughters are college graduates and working in their careers; they are my inspiration and my happiness.
Minnesota's winters were hard for me the first couple of years, but now I have gotten used to cold temperatures. In 2009, I decided to pursue a degree in social work. I enrolled at Saint Cloud State University (SCSU), and I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. In 2016, I came back to SCSU to get a master's degree in Social Work, and I grauduated recently.
This is my fifth year in the school district, and I hope to continue working here for many years to come. Some of the things that I love about my job are working one-on-one with students, meeting parents or caretakers, and working as a team with my colleagues. I also enjoy photography, gardening, cooking, reading, walking, biking, and swimming. My favorite animal is the "seagull" because seagulls fly free on the ocean.
