School Social Worker
South Junior High
Hello! I am the school social worker at South Junior High. I work with students to help them function well in school. I also provide students and their families with resources in the community. My job sometimes requires talking to students about things that have happened to them that are hard to deal with.
I was born in Santiago, Chile and I moved to the United States with my husband and my older daughter, Daniela. I finished my Associate degree in Graphic Design in Gainesville, Florida. In 2004, I moved with my husband and younger daughter, Shannon, to Saint Cloud, Minnesota. Both of my daughters graduated from college, and they are working in their careers; they are my inspiration and my happiness.
In 2009, I decided to go back to school. I enrolled in Saint Cloud State University, and I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work in 2013. I then went back to school in 2018 and graduated with a Master Degree in Social Work. Currently, I am getting my supervision to get the LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker) license. One of my purposes in life is to never stop learning.
This is my seven year in the school district, and I hope to continue working for many years to come. One of the things that I love about my job is talking to my students and getting to know them and their families or caretakers. I also enjoy activities such as reading, photography, cooking, and swimming. My favorite animal is the "seagull" because seagulls fly freely on the ocean that I love.
