My name is Diane Olson. I am the 8th grade School Counselor at North Junior High for the 2022-23 school year. I am looking forward to the year ahead and to supporting the Class of 2027 to be their best selves each day and helping them prepare for the high school years ahead!
This is my 11th year at North and can't think of a better place to be! My education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in PreK-8th grade Education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and a Master of Science degree from St Cloud State in Community Counseling Psychology and School Counseling.
Throughout each year, I regularly meet with students to help them navigate academic and personal issues as they arise during the school day. We may explore a variety of topics ranging from building effective study & organizational skills to sorting out issues with peers to focusing on building self-esteem and managing emotions. These middle years are filled with so much change, challenge, growth, and development. It is an honor to support them during this time as they discover who they are and who they want to be.
I also look forward to working with parents/guardians. I believe the more we are able to work together, the better support I can be for your son/daughter. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's academic, social, and/or emotional needs, please feel free to contact me anytime.
