McKinley-ALC was established in 1967 to provide an alternative learning environment for teen parents. Over the years the McKinley-ALC has evolved, offering five unique day programs, night school, and a summer school program to address the needs of alternative learners in grades 9-12. Here you will find students actively engaged and committed to their education. The personalized offerings motivate students to regularly attend to and value their academic goals. Students explore career clusters through work experience, service-learning projects, job-shadowing and post secondary education. Core curriculum and elective courses are taught by teachers licensed in their areas of instruction. Teachers also utilize community experts, up to date curricula, project-based learning, and the latest technology to provide students a differentiated learning atmosphere.
